Welcome to Poet Christian Elementary

Welcome to Poet-Christian K-8 School!

Poet-Christian is a wonderful school community.  We have terrific students, supportive families, and a dedicated staff.  This is my 20th year at Poet and I have enjoyed working with a huge number of families and students over the years.  Our PTSA and staff works hard to provide our students with a variety of activities, events, and programs.  It is always great to see students and families participating in school functions.  These activities help us build strong bonds and enable us to maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS REVIEW

Parents and community members are invited to examine instructional materials to be implemented in 2020-2021 school year in Tracy Unified School District. Instructional materials to be recommended to the TUSD Board of Education include materials for

•K-5 History-Social Science (all K-5 classrooms)

Box Tops For Education

he Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn money for our school.  BTFE is slowing switching over to a digital platform.  Instead of cutting out Box Tops and sending them in, parents will be able to scan receipts using an App to earn money for our school.  This new program is designed to save time and to make it easier for parents and schools to earn money.  Downlaod the BTFE App and start today!
We will still be collecting Box Tops the old way until a full transition has taken place.   Please keep sending in those Box Tops and don’t wait to download the App.  More information is attached in this month’s Family Envelope.

8th Grade Promotion Mtg.

We are starting to prepare for end of the year activities for our 8th graders.  Volunteers are needed for planning and helping at a few of the activities and we are asking for your help.  We are inviting all parents of 8th graders to attend a meeting to discuss promotion activities.  At this meeting we will start planning for the 8th grade dance, promotion, and lunch.  The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 4th @ 7:00 p.m. in our library.

Multicultural Night!

The PTSA is gearing up for a Multicultural Night of Entertainment and Food.  We pushed the date out a bit to the evening of Thursday, Feb. 20th.  We are asking Poet Families and Friends to help us make this night a spectacular celebration of culture.  We are looking for students or groups to perform a cultural dance or song.  We are also looking for families to bring or donate a dessert or treat from their culture to enjoy at the event.  Please see our PTSA Multicultural Flyer for more information.  We hope to see you there!
